Ann Arbor, MI- August, 3, 2016 – Griffin Modjeski, a recent graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School in South Lyon, Michigan, and Kyle Doyle of Dexter High School, Dexter, Michigan, have been awarded scholarships from Parros College Planning to help fund their college education for their upcoming 2016-2017 year. The Parros College Planning’s Annual Scholarship Competition was awarded to recently graduated high school seniors who created and submitted a YouTube video detailing their experience with the staff at Parros College Planning. Students were encouraged to think creatively and come up with a video concept that not only told their distinct story but also showcased individuality.
Griffin Modjeski, son of Michael and Laura, who reside in South Lyon, MI, received the top prize of $500 to fund his education at Notre Dame to study engineering this fall. Modjeski–who also received acceptance at Boston University, the University of Michigan, Loyola University, and Purdue University–was an honors student at Detroit Catholic Central High School where he ranked in the top 10 of his class. Modjeski was also a member of the National Honor Society and Gabriel Richard Club and a participant in Mock Trial, French Club, and Spanish Club.
Kyle Doyle, son of Jeff and Tracey, residents of Dexter, MI, took the second-place with his humorous video and will be using his $300 reward while attending school at Grand Valley State University. While beginning his college education this fall, Doyle plans on majoring in journalism. In high school, Doyle was an active member of the Dexter Drama community, playing Mr. Darcy in “Pride and Prejudice” as well as writing and directing his own play for the program. Doyle was also an MIPA awarded video news anchor and news writer for the school Paper, The Squall.
